E-mail to Family:
Randy sounds much like me yesterday. My flight from Columbus to Midway, got off on time, maybe even early if I remember right, but landed an hour late due to the snow and ice. Then once we were on the ground in midway, there was no leaving. My flight was supposed to leave Chicago around 4:50 PM CST, but we did not even board the plane until 8:00 PM CST, and did not taxi for another 45 min to hour. I did not get back into Albuquerque until 10:15 to 10:20 PM MST, and I had still not had dinner since we had been sitting on the plane for more then an hour on the ground at Midway. So, my dad took me to Applebee’s and I finally got home around 11:30 PM, and had to unpack everything that night, cus my bags were socked from being out in the snow for 9/10's of the night. So, I did not go to bed until around 2 AM, Thursday. I took photos from the airport, and as soon as I can get them off my camera, I will send them your way.
Also, it sounds like I got out of Columbus at just the right time, as they had 5 inches of rainfall Wednesday. There is massive flooding the Columbus metro area. I talked with Kate today, and she said, that she is not in an area that is affected by flooding, but they have closed both I-70 and I-71 due to flooding. The news in Columbus was saying that if that had been snowfall, they would have had about 4 to 6 feet on the ground. I cannot even fathom what 4 to 6 in of snow would look like, let alone, 4 to 6 feet of snow.
Well, that’s about it from my end, I will e-mail more about the good things that happened on my trip when I get time, maybe this weekend.
