Long time, no update...

So, yes, it's been a long time.

So, also tonight is the night. The night that I am homeless. Yes, I will be homeless for one night. Well, I guess not really homeless, but more living in a cardboard box. As part of our Youth Servant Trip to Mexico, we are raising money and awarness of the conditions that the people of Mexico live in, so we are sleeping in boxes on the front lawn of the church.

Right now I'm calling around, trying to find priceing on boxes, cus I have not had time to go beg for boxes. (which may happen, cus well, I dont really want to spend 6 dollars per box, which is the best deal I have found so far and I need 3) LOL. I may go back to my old office, and buy them there, cus well, if they are cheaper, and have them, then I'm so there. Plus, as hard as this is to say, it would be good to see them again.

Well, since I'm wokring on crap, I should get back to what I'm doing, since I'm only putting in a half day.

Peace,
Kevin

awesome
sweet. i've heard of people doing that before, it should be interesting. when do you leave for mexico? i'm going in just a little under 2 weeks. so the excitment is starting to set in. i've been working on my spanish all morning and making flash cards lol. i'm so out of practice! oh well i'll survive. i have had very generous donations from that mission letter i sent out, so much so that i have extra money left over to use for items for the families and kids down there. i just emailed the head dude at Proyecto Abrigo this morning to ask for some suggestions. i'll try to give you a call later if time permitts, i'm off today so we'll see.

Re: awesome
I think it's going to be fun. I just found that u-hall has 24x24x18 boxes for like 4 dollars. Plus, the sears warehouse is like 2 streets over from my office, so I'm going there first to see what they have, then if they dont have anything good, it's up to U-hal.

We leave Albuquerque on the afternoon of the 26th, and arive into El Paso that evening. We will cross the border on Monday. We leave El Paso for Albuquerque on the late afternoon of June 30th. So we have 4 solid building days. Plus, we have like 30 some odd people going, so it should be a easy build (as I knock on fake wood). LOL.

But, since we have 30 people, we are building a bigger house, around 450 sq ft. Which is about the size of my apartment. So, thats kinda scaray to think that a family of 6 is going to live in 400 sq ft.

Well, back to work I go.

Peace,
Kev

I don't think most Mexicans live in boxes. ;)

But, have fun sleeping outside. It's for a good cause, at least.

It's not so much boxes, but anything they can find. Wood Pallets, cardboard, scape metel and so on. We are using cardboard boxes cus it's cheap (read as free), and easy for high school and younger to build with.

Well, as I only had to turn the computer on to download a file that needs to be worked on, I will say bye bye now.

Peace,

A homeless computer nerd with a laptop,

Kevin
