So I don't know what's up with the Lutheran Church. We are still cannibals (eating the body and drinking the blood of Christ every week), but we have a nice website, and you can email the bishop (our head guy). I think a certain amount of tradition is a good thing in a church, as long as they are willing to embrace appropriate change and meet the needs of their followers, something the Roman Catholic church really fails at in my opinion. However, I do like the smoke - it's a good tradition.

Having grown up Catholic, I'm no better at answering the question "Wassup with the Catholic church?" either. Being one of the oldest institutions in the western world, they're not really big on changing things up just because certain people are all wrapped up in modernity. The only good thing I can say about the Catholic church is that they're not as against progress and advancing civilization like some extremist Muslim clerics are. Oh, and they have the website and the pope has email. I guess that's a good start.

Now, if they can get priests to stop messing with boys (and girls, too) and stop hating homosexuality and start realizing that birth control is the only thing that's going to save the world from using up all of its resources too quickly, then I might consider going back to a Catholic church.
