The first book I got is "SAMS Teach Yourself Microsoft Windows Server 2003 in 24 Hours" by Joe Habraken. I picked this book beacuse our main server that runs our database (which the whole company uses) is Windows Server 2003. Granted I have used Windows 2000 Server before, but they have changed and added somethings, so I feel a book telling me all about it is a good thing.
The second book I got is "Microsoft SQL Server 2000 for Dummies". SQL Server is something that is very new to me, but it's what the database (which the whole company uses), so I feel I should learn something about it. I'm hoping to take a few classes on SQL Server & Microsoft Great Plains this summer.
Speaking of Great Plains classes, I have a Microsoft Great Plains Report Writer class tomaro morning. I'm soo stoked about it. It will be my first formal trainning on anything Great Plains, so I'm happy to finaly dig in. Now, just cus this is my first formal trainning does not mean I have not had Trial by Fire already. That has happend a few times over already, and I so far have comeout smelling like a rose. I mean, having the Server screw up twice in within the first month I have been with the company Equals FUN! Lol. Plus there have been problems, like it entered into Single User Mode, when we tried to run the Service Contract's for the Month of April. Even JP, the former Systems Administartor could not figure this problem out, and I was able to figure it out with out knowing shit about SQL Server.
Ok, so I think my ego is now as big as it needs to be, plus I have to be up at 5:30am for the 8:30am Report Writer Class. So, I'm going to split. I will let you all know Thursday how the class went.
