30 Hour Famine: Will Starve For Food!

For 30 hours starting Friday at 12:01am, I am going starve for 30 hours. No, this is not the newest crave in weight loss (well, at least not that I know of). I, along with the whole All Saints Lutheran Church youth group is taking part in the 30 Hour Famine, which is being put on by World Vision.

For those of you who have no clue what the 30 Hour Famine is, the 30 Hour Famine is an international youth movement to fight hunger. Students typically fast for 30 hours to spread awareness and raise funds to help provide food and care for children worldwide, including here in the US. We are going to walk in shoes that we normally do not walk in.

I in no way think this is going to be easy. If anything its going to be far from it. Hell, I get hungry between breakfast and lunch and that is only 4 or so hours. But I, along with the whole Youth Group, are committed to this cause. Did you know that for only $30 a month, (which is just $1 a day) will help feed and care for a child?

So, not only am I taking part in the 30 Hour Famine, but I am also putting my money where my mouth is (mainly cus I can not put food in my mouth for the 30 hours). Personally, I am committing to feeding a child for a whole year ($360 for those of you who do not want to do the math). Frankly its the least I can do.

I have been blessed in many way, and one of those is having a stable job that pays decent enough for me to live well enough. The worse thing I have to worry about is if my next meal is coming from my kitchen or from that of the closet fast-food restaurant to my house (which happens to be Carl's Jr.). Ya, there is no way my fat-butt is going hungry anytime soon (other than the famine).

Now let me ask you, are you going to not only help me, but help our youth group? No we are not asking you to starve (thats our job), but will you feed and care for a child for a year, like I am going to do?

Ok, so I know times are hard. How about start with a month? Thats $30 dollars or just one dollar a day. Heck, thats less then a lot of peoples monthly fancy coffee (*cough* Starbucks *cough*) habit. Sure I am hitting you up for money (hey, I know your good for it), but why not? Its a good cause and if you need another reason, 100% of your donations are tax detectable!

So, I hope you will visit the link below and donate:

Also, if donating money on-line is not your thing or you really just do not trust the internet, Comment on this and I can get you the address of the church to send a check to.

I've done this before, back in middle school. How did it go? How did you guys do it, when we did it the adults made us drink juice every hour, we didn't literally consume nothing for 30 hours. But I remember being hungry still even with the juice. I just think they didn't want our blood sugar to collapse lol. I'm interested to hear how you all did it.

Love,
Jordan
