Not dead...(yet)...

So it has been brought to my attention that its been over a month since since I have updated this thing. I'm sorry for that. Life has been super crazy and I have not really had much time to do any sort of witting. Between school & work, and some sort of attempt at life, I have cut back on my time online. I spend way too much time in front of a computer at work as it is. Anyway, so here is whats new or the same as before.

When we last spoke, I was getting ready to head to Denver & Northern Colorado for a meeting and a mini-vacation. The meeting of the Rocky Mt. Synod Congregational Ministry Board (CMB) was good. Its a great group of people, and I look forward to our next meeting. Given the current economic outlook, we had a lot to do but with very little funds to do it. We found out that we had almost 1/3 of our budget slashed, which equates out to about 1/3 of our budget. But thru the grace of god and some clever budget it work, we were able to meet almost all our goals that we wanted to do. We hope the economy turns around so we have more money when we meet in August.

After the meeting in Denver on Friday, I drove to a small town in Northern Colorado called Eaton where my former pastor (Erik) and his family now live. I spent the weekend with them and I must say it was great to have some time off from school & work, and to catch up with old friends. I even got to spend some time with Kelly (Erik's wife). Since Kelly works for Frontier Airlines as a flight attendant, her schedule can sometimes be really weird. Having that nice little 3.5 day weekend off in Colorado I think was just what the doctor ordered. Nothing beats rest, relaxation, and good friends!

Anyway, after I got back into town from that, it was balls to the wall at work & school. I am glad I decided to only take 3 classes and drop my "Tech Writing" class. If I had not dropped Tech Writing, it would have been the death of me. 3 classes is a pain as is. But as it is, I am doing very good in my 3 classes, which is a good thing.

As some of you might know, I am on a "diet" so to speak. Not really doing anything special expect for watching what I eat and trying to limit how much goes in, not what goes in. So far, so good. Over all in about 6 to 8 weeks, I have lost about 15 pounds. I've had my ups and downs with the whole diet thing, but as a whole its working well. If everything does well, this week or next, I should drop below 170 pounds and see the 160 range, which I have not seen since I was a freshman in college over 8 years ago. I am hoping to still loose another 10 to 20 pounds to wind up somewhere around 150 or 160 pounds.

As to what the future holds, well, at least for the next 3 or 4 weeks, more school and work. The current term finishes up at the end of the month. I am looking forward to summer break (and no I do not take classes during summer) and a chance to rest, relax, and do some more traveling. I figure I have another year or 1.5 years until I graduate. I am looking forward to that. I am so ready to be done with school. Its only been 8 or 9 years off and on. :)

Anyway, I think thats enough of an update for now. I promise I will try and update this thing I call a blog more then once a month. If you want to see my day-to-day musing, thoughts, & rants, check me out on these things called Facebook and/or Twitter.

I will leave you with what was on my coffee cup this afternoon, which I think is appropriate given our worlds current condition:

The Way I See It #26

Failure's hard, but success is far more dangerous. If you're successful at the wrong thing, the mix of praise and money and opportunity can lock you in forever.
