Reading an article on CNN about McCain & Obama's reaction to the failure of the bailout, when I noticed something that really just did not add up.

Read these two quotes from the story and you will see what I mean:

"Sen. Barack Obama blasted Congress for not passing a financial rescue package Monday, while Sen. John McCain's campaign accused Obama and Democrats of putting 'politics ahead of country'."

"The bill failed by a vote of 205 to 228, with 140 Democrats and 65 Republicans voting in favor and 95 Democrats joining 133 Republicans against."
Um, can someone, anyone, tell me how this is Obama's and the Democrats fault of putting "politics ahead of country"? I know I can have problems with math, but I do not think this is one of those times. Assuming the CNN numbers correct (and I have no reason to assume otherwise), more Democrats voted for this then against and more Republicans voted against this then in favor for this.

To me, this seems like the republicans had more to do with killing this then the Democrats did. I think John McCain & his campaign needs to get their facts correct before they opens their mouths. Now I am not going to blame anyone for this failure, cus I really can not tell you who or what side is responsible (if anyone or any side is).

But what I can tell you is that they need to go back to the drawing board and figure something out that they can agree on. Because, if we do not get something passed by weeks end, I get a feeling we will be in The Great Depression, Part Deux. The Great Depression of the 1920's will look like child's games if we do not do something SOON...

My understanding of this is that the Republicans are blaming a partisan speech that Nancy Pelosi made before the vote. They were all bragging about working in bipartisan mode on this, and then apparently she cooked it with her comments. The Republicans claim they could have pulled it off if she hadn't made her speech. Should the Republicans be playing "take our marbles and go home" because they don't like what Ms. Pelosi said? Probably not, but I guess she really pissed some folks off.

Ok, so Pelosi cooked it. But I still fail to see how this is Obama's fault. He does not control Pelosi.

rejection of Bail out Package.
I believe Senator mcCain suspended his compaign so he could go to capital hill and get this package approved by his GOP colleagues . that time he satated that this is utmost important for America then wasting time on campaign or debate . it looks he went to get this package rejected . funny isn't it that he is back on compaign trail when he recieved this news . He didn't rush back . His staff has read that tell lie so many times that people start believ8ing that it is truth.
