The Votes Are All In...

So I bet you thought this post was going to be about American Idol? Well you are wrong.

All the major television networks have announced their fall 2008-2009 lineup and I must say that all in all, I am sad as I lost 3 shows I like (Las Vegas, Back to You, & Canterbury's Law) but overall, it could have been much worse. I think next year will be much worse for me with some big name shows (Boston Legal & ER) having 2008-2009 as their final season.

What really pisses me off is that they leave these shows with cliffhangers and then do just that, leave us hanging. I wish that they would come back and air at least one episode (maybe two) and wrap crap up for us. I mean, is it really that hard before they strike the sets? Maybe a new rule, that they must film at least one episode for the next season right after they film the season ender?

Anyway, enough of my bitching and pity-party I got going here. Life will go on and there will be other shows (unless they are all that crappy reality TV).

Speaking of reality tv, one show that I am glad to see canceled is Kid Nation. It was not picked up for a second season and I am really not surprised in any way, shape, or form of that. Now if it was canceled due to lack of rating or just cus they could not find a legal place to shoot the show now that New Mexico closed the legal loop holes in our labor laws? That is a question we will probably never know the answers to.

Anyway, below the cut is a list of shows that are coming back, shows that got the ax, and new shows for the 2008-2009 season. See which of your favorite shows made it and which ones did not. Then come bitch commiserate with me in the comments where I will be waitting.

Wait. Boston Legal is ending next season? This is the first I heard of it. That show is a cash cow for ABC.

Ya, unless something major happens / changes between now and the end of next season, its scheduled to be the last.

Now part of me is kinda happy that I at least know when the show is going to end, so I am not always worried if its going to come back and if its going to end on a clifhanger. But neverless, I am sad that its ending, cus I LOVE that show.

Moonlight should not have been canceled.
There are millions of Moonlight fans out there that are still reeling from the news of the show's cancellation. There's a huge campaign going on right now to have either CBS or another network pick it up for a second season. It's just completely surprising that a program that's won a People's Choice award, came out on top for CBS on Friday nights, would be yanked from the airwaves. It's insane!

Re: Moonlight should not have been canceled.
I never saw Moonlight, but it will be interesting to see if CBS will pick it up again like they did with Jericho (which is getting the Ax again this year).

Big campaigns seem to be the way to go, as a physcial show of something does a lot more then a petition does. I know big fans of the show Las Vegas (I’m not that big to do this) are sending baby booties to the head of NBC programming to "save the baby of two of the charters".

As much as I never saw Jericho, I did help with the Nuts about Jericho campaign just because it was funny that all these thousands upon thousand pounds of nuts were being delivered to CBS's offices (they even had video of it). Classic.

King of the Hill always seems to be on the verge of cancellation, but always survives.

I like King of the Hill, but they've been repeating themselves for five years.

I never got into King of the Hill myself. I've seen a few episodes, but I never got into it.
