School clears student who was suspended for buying Skittles at school

Well according to CNN, it appears that New Haven, CT school officials have done an about face on their punishment of a eighth-grade honors student who was suspended for buying Skittles at school from a classmate. (Original post here about the story can be found here)

In a statement that was released late Wednesday afternoon, Superintendent of the New Haven school system, Reginald Mayo, said that he and Principal Eleanor Turner met with the boy’s parents and that Turner decided to clear the boy's record and restore him to his student council post. Also in the statement, Turner said "I am sorry this has happened" and "My hope is that we can get back to the normal school routine..."

I must say that it is good to see that there is still some justice in this world. Granted, this really should have never happened in the first place, as I think the school made this way bigger then it ever needed to be (highlighted by the fact that I have now made two posts in my blog about it). Really, the worse that should have happened in this case was that the student in question should have been told to go run laps or something that would have caused him to burn enough calories and fat equal to what is in the skittles. (Ya, I know it would never fly, cus its logical. LOL.)

CNN also has video up on their site too, which can be found here. Not sure how long it will be up, but for right now it is working.
