TGIF

Today has been crazy busy. The day started with my alarms going off at 4:45am, and finally getting out of bed around 5am. I spend about 20 minutes on the treadmill during which catching up on last nights Daily Show and Colbert Report. I was also in major multi-tasking mode as I was checking email and other stuff on my phone at the same time.

After the treadmill, I took a quick shower, got dressed, and then got my self out the door and down to my office. I got to the office just a tad after 6am, and was the second one there, with Charlie getting there before me.

Today was our monthly company breakfast, and we were down two people. Well, I should say that we thought we were going to be down, but then Carl showed up and surprised us all in the process. When I asked him, he was like "Well someone said there was going to be free food". It was good to have him around as we were able to get an update on everything going on.

Breakfast was good, but cooking for 30 sucks. Heck, I do not really like cooking for 1, let along more. Now it was not just me cooking (Thank God), I had help from two and a half other people. I say two and a half, because the half a person did not help that much, only really pitching in every now and then and then bossing us around.

After breakfast, I raced down to UNM (University Near Mom) for my two classes today. After classes I headed back to my house to take a bit longer of a lunch then I normally do since I had about 2.5 hours already for the day. Then I went into the office where I worked until taking off to go home at 4:30pm.

When I got home, I was dead to the world tired. I was watching TV, when I went into my bedroom for something, and next thing I know I am waking up to my phone ringing, and I was laying on my bed. I am not sure how I wound up laying down on my bed, but I did and I passed out. Anyway, the phone call was my father asking if I had dinner yet.

Being that I had been way too tired to even think of dinner, I told him no. He asked if I wanted to go to Buca di Beppo or Steak and Ale. I had never been to Steak and Ale, but I said that I was fine with both. I told dad to call me back when he and mom and figured out where they wanted to go. A few minutes later, I was told Steak and Ale and that my parents would be by in about 15 min to pick me up.

Dinner was ok. Service was ok, and the food was so / so. It might be the fact that I did not order a steak at a place called Steak and Ale, but I just do not know. I am sure Buca would have been much better, but then such is life. After dinner, on our way back to my place to drop me off, we noticed that a helicopter was circling basically over my house (was circling over my neighborhood).

Just as we got off the interstate, we were passed by a cop running full code at a high rate of speed. Also, just as we were getting ready to turn into my neighborhood, that same cop (we assume), was coming up the street the other direction, and all of a sudden made a u-turn in the middle of the street. So we get to my house, and all the while, the helicopter is still circling above my place.

So I am not sure what was going on, but not long after I got home the helicopter left the area. Just as I was writing this, I am hearing sirens again. All I am going to say is that its Albuquerque and I am used to it. Plus, the best part is that I live in the "good" part of town. LOL. Albuquerque is not a bad city, but we do have our fair share of crime.

Anyway, I am tired so I think it be bed time for me.

Ya, it was a long day. My mom wanted to go catch a movie after dinner and I had to put the breaks on that because there was no way that I would be able to make it up that late. So we are going to do it tonight sometime. I am not even sure the name of this movie, but it does have Tommy Lee Jones and was filmed here in Albuquerque.

A few of my coworkers were invited to have lunch with cast and crew of the movie, and they ended up sitting right across the table from Mr. Jones. All I got was a really crappy and dry cookie. LOL

I did watch the news last night and it was not even mentioned. So that tells me two things. First it says that no one was shot, stabbed, killed, and so on. The second thing it tells me is that that whom ever they were searching for and/or what ever they were looking for was not that "big".

Here in Albuquerque, our news media has taken the "if it bleeds, it leads" motto. That’s to say that all the shooting; stabbings, etc take the lead in the news (with some exceptions). But I am so used to it that it does not even phase me anymore, even when I goto other places.

I was in Milwaukee back in August, and my boss who used to live there told me the areas to stay out of, and well, lets just say that I ended up driving thru one of the "bad" areas and did not realize it until I was almost out of that area. LOL.
