What in the hell is going on in the world? (Part II)

So earlier today I posted a entry titled "What in the hell is going on in the world?", well I have found another news story on CNN that really makes me sick and really makes me question the world we live in.

The headline was: "Tearful judge: 'You threw away your child' ". As I started to read this story I just wanted to cry. This women "hit her 7-year-old adopted son on the head with a hammer and didn't seek help while the boy slowly died". I must say you have to be one cold-hearted bitch to be able to do something like that.

I guess my first question is why was this women allowed to adopt kids in the first place? My second question is, why was no one doing fallow up to make sure the adoption & everything else was going ok? Also, I have worked in schools before, you know when something is not right with a kid. Where was his fucking teachers during all of this? This women "abused the boy for years, restraining him with ropes in the basement." Someone at his school should have noticed something was wrong and should have reported it to the authorities. Hell, they are required to by law, its called being a "mandatory reporter", I know as I am a "mandatory reporter" due to my work with youth in the church.

Stories like this really piss me off. If people had done their jobs, more then likely this kid would still be alive. But, people got lazy or something, and now this poor kid is dead. I take some comfort in know that this bitch and her husband are going to be locked up for a good long time and should never have kids again.

Also as an aside, if you ever suspect that a child is being abused, please report it to the proper authorities. Most states have written legislation that give the reporter immunity against charges and/or prosecution.
