Insane Clown Posse - Lets Go All The Way

I love the song "Lets Go All The Way" from the Insane Clown Posse & its music video for a number of reasons. One: I just like the song & music video. Got a great beat I can grove to and video is just visually fun. Two: When you watch the music video for this song you get a different mental image then if you watch the video and read the lyrics side-by-side. Three: There is a lot of symbolism of different things in the song and video.

When you watch the music video for "Lets Go All The Way" by its self with out fully knowing the lyrics, there is a different mental image painted for the viewer then if you are to watch the video and read / know the lyrics. When you watch the video by its self you might be scared and think the song is about violence or hatred based on the images used in the video.

As far as I can tell, this is far from the truth. When you look at the lyrics (click the link above) and then watch the video again, it really starts to take on whole different meaning. When I look at this song / video, I see a lot of different symbolism in it. First I see a message of inclusion in it.

The video shows all different types of people from all different backgrounds in the video getting along. There is a part where you see too guys, a person in a business suit and a guy with a shaved head in a leather jacket, circling around looking like they are about to get in a fight. Then all of a sudden they each start dancing. The lyrics talk about "ain't nobody jealous" and "look at them rich kids, poor kids // everybody together on the same side". The message here, if it was intended or not, is inclusion and everyone getting along. Not what you would expect from this video or a band called the "Insane Clown Posse".

But the other message of symbolism I see in this song is one talking about heaven. With lyrics like "ain't nobody left out // everybody gets to go (everybody) // it can never be to crowded // come on we still pickin up some more", it really screams Lutheran to me (granted, that might be cus I am a Lutheran). Then there are more lyrics like "there are no sickness // no sickness, nobody has to die(nobody has to die) // everything’s answered // right then and there // never have to wonder why(never have to wonder why)"

I really am not sure these things are the message they were trying to get across with this song, but after looking deeper, its the two things that I take away.
