So this is what the guy had to say:
Measured service would be $5.90 per month, plus usage of $0.03 per minute for local outbound calls. You would still pay about $10.00 in taxes, fees, and surcharges.
So then I asked "What happends to incoming calls?"
The guy at Qwest replyed: You can get unlimited incoming calls at no charge.
So as I figure it, I am paying right now $27.00 to $28.00 dollars per month for local phone service. At $5.90 plus $10.00 dollars in taxes and crap, thats only around $16.00 dollars per month, with a savings of about $12.00 dollars per month. So even at $0.03 per minute, I would have to talk about 400 minutes to equal that $11.00 or $12.00 I would be saving.
So I do need to think about it, but this would allow me to keep my DSL service, people could call my house all they want, and I would still save money. So I think its a win-win thing, but again, I still need to put some thought into it.
So, if you live in the Qwest area, and do not feel like paying $28.00 dollars per month, then dont.
