The hard choices in life...

To get a Crackberry or not, that is the question. A hard one I must say too.

I have the chance to get a blackberry for work, and I guess the real question is to get it, or get a pocket PC with a data plan. Both have there own plus and minus to go with them.

I meen the blackberry is a great corp email tool, but beyond that, I do not know what its abilites are. I know that people who have blackberry's love then, which is why they are nick named "CrackBerry".

But like I said, I really have no clue as to what else they can do or not do, where as with the pocket PC I know what it can do as I use one lmost every day of the week.

So that is my hard choice for now...

I'm not sure I'd get a Blackberry
Kevin,

I'm not sure I'd get a Blackberry... have you heard about the lawsuit and such? They were just delt a blow in the courts and might not be around for much longer. There are even companies out there advertising on what to do when Blackberry goes down (i.e. Sprint, Cingular, etc...). I would either wait for an outcome on the whole Blackberry lawsuit comes through or just go with a PocketPC with a data plan. Anyway, thought you should know... or at least alert you so you can do your own research.

Peace,
Kate

Re: I'm not sure I'd get a Blackberry
O I know all about the stuff going on with RIM and NTP. My guess is nothing will come of it, and I have heard from people on both Sprint and Verizons side that they are selling crackberrys just like normal.

I mean the worst that happens, is that I have to get a new device on Verizon if the blackberry service does fail. Also, RIM says they have a workaround, if they an stop order is issued. But I think RIM would settle or pay a liceson fee to NTP before they would let the service die.

I mean its like telling the Earthlink users that they cant connect to the internet, but you can still get e-mail. LOL. It would kill RIM and I do not see that going down. Also there are so many gov employess with blackberrys that I think "W" or some part of the gov would step in.

But that is why I am trying to decided what to get and why its a hard decision for me.

Peace,
Kevin
